How do I enroll in behind-the-wheel Drivers Training? And when can I start?
- Come to our office with your Driver Education completion certificate and $360 (cash or check only). We will issue you a Driver Training enrollment certificate which is required by the DMV to get a permit.
- Go to the DMV to take the written test for a permit.
- Once you have passed the written test and received your permit, call us to schedule your lessons.
Why must I enroll in Driver Training before getting my permit?
It's the law (since 2004). Note, however, that the Teen Driver Training requirement is not new. It has always been required and the only difference now is the timing of enrollment to be before getting the permit.
Who do I make checks payable to?
A-Safe Way Driving School
- Driver Education: Payment due on first day of class. Check or cash only.
- Driver Training: Payment must be made in person at our office. Check or cash only.
- Traffic School: Payment due at beginning of class. Cash only.
- Adult Behind the Wheel Driving Lessons: Payment due at beginning of lesson. Check or cash only.
What is your cancellation policy? (behind the wheel lessons only - not classroom)
We require a 3 weekday advance notice to avoid a cancellation fee. If you need to change the pickup address, you must notify us at least 24 hours in advance. If calling to change the pickup address on Saturday or Sunday, we can only honor your request if we answer your call live, but not if you leave a message on the answering machine.
Do people over 18 years of age need an instruction permit while learning to drive?
Yes, the law requires an instruction permit regardless of age.
